Word to PDF
Turn a Word document into a clean, shareable PDF.
This tool uploads your file to our server. It is never stored; the PDF is deleted within an hour. How your file is handled
What to expect from the PDF
You get your text in the original order with headings, bold and italic, bullet and numbered lists, tables as a real grid, and your page breaks. Pictures, charts, shapes, headers, footers and your exact fonts and colours are not reproduced yet, so this is a clean text-and-table rendering, not a pixel-perfect copy. Pre-2007 .doc files must be saved as .docx first.
How your file is handled
Unlike our PDF and image tools, Word to PDF runs on our server, so the document leaves your device. Your file is converted in memory and never written to storage. Only the PDF is kept privately for up to an hour so you can download it, then deleted. No document text is stored or logged; the only name kept is the download name for your result, which is deleted with it.
About word to pdf
Convert a .docx file into a PDF anyone can open, on any device, without Word. Convertora reads the document itself — its paragraphs, headings, bold and italic text, bullet and numbered lists, tables and page breaks — and writes them onto US Letter pages in the original order. It is honest about what it does not do: pictures, charts, drawn shapes, text boxes, headers, footers and your exact fonts and colours are not carried over yet, so the PDF is a clean text-and-table rendering of your document rather than a pixel-perfect copy. Older .doc files from before 2007 are refused with instructions rather than half-read. Like our other document tools, the file is uploaded over HTTPS, converted in memory, never stored, and the PDF is kept privately for up to an hour so you can download it, then deleted.
How it works
- 1Sign in to your free account, then choose a .docx of up to 25 MB. The file is uploaded over HTTPS.
- 2We read the document's text, headings, lists and tables and lay them out on PDF pages, keeping your page breaks.
- 3The PDF is checked for validity before it's offered, then downloaded through a short-lived private link.
Frequently asked questions
- Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
- No, and we won't pretend otherwise. You get your text in the right order with headings, bold and italic, lists, tables and page breaks. Pictures, charts, shapes, headers, footers and your exact fonts, colours and margins are not reproduced yet. For a text-led document the result is very close; for a heavily designed one, use Word's own Save as PDF.
- Can I convert an old .doc file?
- Not directly. A pre-2007 .doc is a completely different, binary format. Rather than read it badly, we tell you what to do: open it in Word and use Save As to store it as .docx, then convert that file.
- What about tables?
- Tables are drawn as a real grid with borders, with the first row treated as a header and repeated when a table runs onto a new page. Very wide tables have their columns narrowed to fit the page, and text that still can't fit a cell is trimmed with an ellipsis instead of overflowing.
- Does it support Arabic, Chinese or other non-Latin scripts?
- Not yet. PDF output currently uses standard fonts that cover Latin-based European languages. If a document is written in a script we can't lay out, we stop and tell you rather than hand you a page of blanks.
- Is my file uploaded?
- Yes — reading a Word file reliably needs a server, so the document is uploaded over HTTPS. It is converted in memory and never written to storage; only the PDF is held privately for up to an hour so you can download it, then deleted. Download links are signed and expire after a couple of minutes.
