About compress pdf

Reduce PDF file size by re-rendering each page at a resolution and quality you choose. This works especially well on scans, photos and image-heavy documents, where most of the file size lives. Because pages are re-rendered, text becomes part of the page image rather than selectable text — pick 300 DPI and Maximum quality if readability matters more than size.

How it works

  1. 1Add the PDF you want to shrink.
  2. 2Choose a resolution and quality — lower values mean smaller files.
  3. 3Compress, compare the new size against the original, and download.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?
Scanned and image-heavy PDFs often shrink dramatically. Text-only PDFs are already compact and may not shrink much — the result size is always shown next to the original so you can decide.
Will the text still be selectable?
No. This method rebuilds each page as an image, which is what makes the saving reliable. If you need selectable text, keep the original file.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Compression runs in your browser and the document never leaves your device.
