Open PDF to JPGConvert PDFs in Chrome
Android phones can open PDFs, but converting, compressing or combining them usually means installing an app. With Convertora you can do it in Chrome, or another modern browser, without installing anything. The PDF and image tools run on the phone itself, so your files stay on the device.
Step by step
- 1Open convertora.online in Chrome and choose a tool, for example PDF to JPG, Compress PDF or Merge PDF.
- 2Tap the upload area. Android opens its file picker, where you can choose a PDF from Downloads, internal storage or Google Drive.
- 3Choose your settings and tap the button to convert.
- 4Tap Download. Chrome shows a notification when the file is saved.
Finding your downloads
Converted files go to the Downloads folder. Open the Files app (Files by Google or your phone maker's file manager) and look under Downloads, or open Chrome's menu and tap Downloads.
Several pages or photos download as one ZIP. Most Android file managers can open it: tap the ZIP and choose Extract.
Images: JPGs in Downloads usually appear in Google Photos or your gallery app under a Downloads album.
Useful tools on Android
Merge PDF: combine several scanned pages into one document for a form.
Compress PDF: get a file under an email or upload limit.
PDF to JPG: share a page as an image in a chat.
PDF to Word: turn a PDF into an editable document. This one uses our server and needs a free account.
Which tools upload your file?
PDF and image tools run in the browser on your phone. PDF to Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF, are converted on our server, as explained on each tool page. The file travels over HTTPS, and the result is kept privately for up to an hour, then deleted.
Tips
Keep the page open until the download finishes. Switching apps mid-conversion can pause the work on some phones.
For long PDFs, choose a lower resolution, or split the file first to reduce the work for your phone.
If a file from Google Drive won't open, download it to the phone first, then choose it from Downloads.
Getting a PDF onto your phone
Email attachments: tap the download icon on the attachment in Gmail, and it goes to Downloads.
Paper documents: the Google Drive app has a Scan button that saves photos of paper as a PDF. Many phones also have a document mode in the camera app. Merge PDF can combine several scans into one file.
Messaging apps: PDFs received in WhatsApp or Telegram can usually be saved to the phone from the file's menu, then picked from Downloads.
Frequently asked questions
Do the downloads work on Samsung and other phones?
Yes. Downloads go to the standard Downloads folder, which Samsung's My Files and other file managers show.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Everything works in Chrome or another modern Android browser.
Is my PDF uploaded?
Not with the PDF and image tools; they run on your phone. The Word, Excel and PowerPoint converters use our server and tell you before you start.
Can I merge scans taken with my phone camera?
If they're photos, combine them with JPG to PDF. If they're already PDFs, use Merge PDF.
