Turn a CSV file into a JSON array you can use in code or an API. The first row is treated as the column headers and every row below becomes an object. The parser follows the CSV standard properly: quoted values may contain commas, quotation marks and even line breaks, doubled quotes are read as a single quote, and both Windows and Unix line endings work. Empty cells become empty text rather than disappearing, so every record has the same shape, and repeated or blank headers are given predictable names. Malformed files — such as a quoted value that is never closed — return a clear error instead of scrambled output. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. Parsing happens entirely inside your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

- Yes. Quoted fields may contain commas, line breaks and escaped quotation marks, and the value is preserved exactly as written.
- What happens to empty cells?
- They become empty text values, so every object has the same set of fields as the header row.
- Are numbers converted to numeric values?
- No. Every value is kept as text so nothing is altered — leading zeros, long identifiers and phone numbers stay exactly as they appear in the file.
